Emmanuel FILLON : Aeromodelist

Among the whole of the inheritance (models, plans, documentation, mail, sketch…) left by this large modelist after his disappearance, this site presents mainly its work modelist to through his biography and the photographs of its models (planes, sailplanes).

All the models presented have flewn and took part in contests, they are classified according to four main categories:

   ThePEANUTS

Small Models of all kinds (monoplanes, biplanes, high wings, low wings...) to satisfy you and fly inside a gymnasium in winter or outside in summer if there is very little wind.

All these models that one call them Cacahuetes (in French) or Peanuts result from civil aircrafts or military having existed. They thus are called because the size is imposed: the scale must make 330 mm (13") to the maximum or the length of the fuselage should not exceed 230 mm (9").

   The OLD TIMERS

Now called old aircraft Old Timer because they marked their time and of many specimens exist of share the world. They are specifically aircraft to fly in outside.

All these old models, that they are planes (spark-ignition engine or rubber) or sailplanes were studied to fly of external, to contribute, and TO GAIN.

Here is presented the "Wakefield" of Emmanuel FILLON, it gained the championship of the World in 1937 in the category Wakefield and since this date, no other French gained this prestigious trophy envied by all the model makers of coasting flight.

   The FLYING MODELS

Models of all kinds (monoplanes, biplanes, high wings, low wings...) to satisfy you and fly in outside, is in free flight or radio control (very easy adaptation).

All these models result from civil aircrafts or military having existed. If one wants to make them evolve/move in the spirit of origin, one will make them fly such as they are drawn, i.e. for the free flight. But if the environment does not allow it, it is very easy to radiocontrol them and electrify the propulsion.

In addition, taking into account the size (dismountable + average scale = 900mm) it is very easy to transport them the weekend and even on holiday.

The  SAINTES FORMULES  & EXPERIMENTAUX

The "Saintes Formules" are models whose size is imposed like Peanuts, the only difference is that they do not refer to aircrafts having existed. That one is not mistaken there, under the aspect gracil, "animals of contest" and the performances are several minutes of flight for aircraft of approximately 3g or less ..... But too fragile to fly outside, these aircraft fly only inside one gymnasium.

Under this heading "The Unclassifiable" hide experimental models which are not less powerful, and all gained in contests.
